The Costume Inst*tute Gala is all about taking fashion risks. Problem is, they can easily go awry. Kristen Stewart’s black Chanel dress is a perfect example. It’s so hideous it makes me mad at both Stewart AND Chanel.
The (nearly) ladybits-bearing gown is so many kinds of wrong we don’t even know where to start. Apparently Chanel had some extra fishing net laying around, and – wanting to be frugal – decided to attach it to the top half of a dress. In all the creative chaos, they completely forgot to sew a skirt to the gown, and sent it on its way.
Kristen Stewart – wanting to be fashion-forward and not question the esteemed judgment of Chanel – put it on to be a good sport. It’s probably not her fault.
To her credit, Kristen doesn’t seem to move her hand away from her left hip during the course of the evening. Though she probably wished she’d chosen a larger purse.
I think Kristen looks GORGEOUS AND SEXY!!!
